Porvorim: The Goa Cricket Association successfully conducted the auction for the Goa Premier Division League 2025–26 at the GCA Hall in Porvorim on Tuesday, marking an important step ahead of the upcoming domestic cricket season in the state.
Six teams will compete in the tournament, setting the stage for an exciting contest among some of Goa’s leading cricket clubs. The participating teams include Panjim Gymkhana, Geno Sports Club, Salgaocar Cricket Club, Margao Cricket Club, Chowgule Sports Club and Dempo Cricket Club. The league is expected to feature several talented players and competitive matches throughout the tournament.
In the auction pool, Darshan Mishal finished with the highest points tally of 32,500 points and will represent Chowgule Sports Club. Vikas Singh followed closely with 32,000 points and will play for Geno Sports Club. Suyash Prabhudessai secured the third spot with 28,500 points and will represent Panjim Gymkhana.
Several other players also attracted attention during the auction. Abhinav Tejrana, representing Dempo Cricket Club, secured 22,500 points, while Deepraj Gaonkar of Margao Cricket Club earned 19,500 points. Their performances and selections are expected to strengthen their respective squads ahead of the tournament.
The Goa Premier Division League 2025–26 is scheduled to take place from March 21 to April 17, 2026. Matches will be played across multiple venues in the state, including the GCA Ground in Porvorim, the GCA Ground in Sanguem, the Gymkhana Ground in Panaji, the Napex Ground in Sanquelim and the SAG Ground in Chicalim.
The event was attended by Goa Cricket Association president Mahesh Dessai and secretary Tulshidas Shetye, who acknowledged the efforts of participating clubs and players. The association reiterated its focus on strengthening the local cricketing structure and creating opportunities for emerging cricketers to compete at a higher level and progress in the sport.
