PANAJI: On Wednesday, Goa State presented its Tableau at the 73rd Republic Day parade held at Rajpath, New Delhi.
The Tableau of Goa is designed on the theme of significant monuments and Cultural treasurers of Goa depicting symbols of Goan Heritage, Aguada fort, Martyrs Memorial at Azad Maidan, Donapaula, IFFI, Shigmo festival and Kunbies folk dance through a live performance of music and dance.
The rich musical heritage of Goa reflected the influence of a variety of regimes. Tableau showcased the typical dance performance.
The Tableau has been conceptualized by Shri Sushant Khedekar, Ponda, and all 18 artists, including dancers, performed on an elevated stage amid captivating music and beats of dhol, tasso in the background of a Donapaula idyllic Rocky tourist attraction.
When the Goan Tableau wended its way at Rajpath, the spectators applauded it.
The music was composed by Shri Mukesh Ghatwal and Shri. Bipin Khedekar from Goa.
In all 12 States of the Country, including Union Territories, which includes Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and nine tableaux of different Union Ministries presented the tableaux depicting the social, cultural, economic and technological facets of India capturing both the beauty of the landscape and architectural heritage besides India@75, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav symbolizing both India’s glorious past and reflecting the citizen’s aspiration for a prosperous and happy tomorrow.
The Goa Tableau was presented under the auspices of the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa.
