Nagoa: The Goa Priests football team delivered a commanding performance with a 6–1 victory against the combined team of Goa Daman Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli in an exhibition match held at the Nagoa Panchayat Ground on Sunday.
Fr. Snyter and Fr. Mario each scored twice, while Fr. Norbert and Fr. Denzil added a goal apiece to seal the win for Goa Priests. Fr. Anand netted the lone goal for the visiting side, providing a moment of consolation for Daman Diu & DDNH.
The match saw an enthusiastic turnout and concluded with a spirited prize distribution ceremony. Fr. Movin Fernandes of Don Bosco Benaulim was the chief guest for the event, presenting awards in the presence of several special invitees, including Fr. Angel Gomes (Pillar Fathers), Fr. Blair, Mr. Timothy, and Mrs. Clara Vas.
Individual Awards:
Fr. Myron was awarded Best Goalkeeper, Fr. Americo took home Best Defender, Fr. Norbert was named both Best Midfielder and Best Striker, Fr. Mowin was recognised as the GOAT Player, Fr. Menoy earned Best Player, Ismat won Best Header, Anand was awarded Game Maker, Fr. Vicky was named Best Captain, Fr. Jovier was declared Player of the Match, and Fr. Milagres received the Best Winger award.
The exhibition match showcased not only footballing talent but also the camaraderie and spirit of unity among the participating priests and communities.
