PANAJI: The Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) hosted its Partner Technology Event in Panaji, showcasing a range of clean energy solutions with a strong focus on biofuels, battery regeneration, wastewater treatment and solar power.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant congratulated GEDA and its partners for driving Goa’s green transition and stressed the importance of biofuels in achieving energy security and sustainability.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji has already shown the world India’s leadership in renewable energy by meeting the 2030 clean energy targets five years ahead of schedule. Inspired by his vision, Goa is promoting clean energy projects such as the BiofuelCircle portal, rooftop solar schemes, and the PM Surya Ghar Yojana,” Sawant said.
The Chief Minister noted that biofuels offer Goa a unique opportunity to reduce dependence on fossil fuels while creating a circular economy model that benefits farmers, industry and citizens alike. “Biofuel is not just an alternative fuel, it is a pathway to energy independence and rural empowerment,” he said.
At the event, technology partners demonstrated solutions for producing and using biofuels, alongside innovations in solar and waste-to-energy.
GEDA officials said the agency is working to create stronger linkages between farmers, entrepreneurs and industries to scale up biofuel adoption in Goa.
