PANAJI: The Directorate of Transport has released its monthly report for August 2025, revealing a total of 166 road accidents across Goa, alongside 8,921 challans issued during the month.
According to the report, the accidents included 9 fatal accidents (North Goa – 4; South Goa – 5), 16 grievous accidents (North Goa – 10; South Goa – 6), 22 minor accidents (North Goa – 13; South Goa – 9), and 119 non-injury accidents (North Goa – 47; South Goa – 72).
The fatalities numbered 9 persons, comprising 7 riders, 1 pillion rider, and 1 pedestrian. Additionally, 20 people sustained grievous injuries (North Goa – 11; South Goa – 9), and 40 persons suffered minor injuries (North Goa – 14; South Goa – 26).
The report underscores the continuing need for road safety awareness and strict adherence to traffic regulations to reduce accidents across the state.
