PANAJI: The Goa Police have registered a total of 387 cybercrime cases from January 2020 to Feb 2024, 2025, encompassing a range of offenses including banking and financial fraud, email scams, job scams, social media fraud, e-commerce fraud, and data breaches.
As per information, 43 cases were registered in 2020, 38 in 2021, 94 in 2022, 87 in 2023, 88 in 2024 and 37 till February 28, 2025.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Goa Police actively conducts cybercrime awareness sessions across the state to educate citizens about online threats and safety measures.
“Officers/staff of Goa Police have been trained to handle cyber-related offenses, with regular training programs conducted to enhance their expertise. Also, undergone specialized training at various law enforcement agencies across the country,” said Sawant
Sawant said that Advanced forensic tools and software are available to aid in cybercrime investigations.
“Cyber Crime Help Desk is made functional at all Police Stations, Citizens can report cybercrime incidents through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or by calling the 1930 helpline,” he added
