PANAJI: Goa is reimagining its healthcare system with a strong focus on access, prevention and timely care, said Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, highlighting the state’s AI-powered lung cancer screening initiative.
“In Goa, we are reimagining healthcare with a clear focus on access, prevention, and timely care. By leveraging AI-powered lung cancer screening in collaboration with AstraZeneca and Qure.ai, we are bringing free, advanced diagnostic screening closer to the people,” Rane said.
The Health Minister informed that a total of 1,06,248 screenings have already been completed under the initiative, reflecting the government’s commitment to early detection and preventive healthcare.
“This initiative underscores our belief that early detection should never be a privilege, but a basic right. Our efforts remain firmly aligned with the goal of Health for All,” Rane added.
The AI-enabled screening programme aims to identify lung cancer at an early stage, improving treatment outcomes and reducing the burden of advanced disease. The initiative is part of the state government’s broader strategy to integrate technology-driven solutions into public healthcare delivery and ensure equitable access to quality medical services across Goa.
