Panaji: Goa witnessed a total of 200 road accidents in October 2025, resulting in 18 fatalities and over a hundred injuries, according to official district-wise accident data. Of the total incidents recorded, 17 were fatal, 23 grievous, 49 minor, and 111 non-injury accidents, indicating a continued concern over road safety across the State.
In North Goa, authorities reported 96 accidents, including eight fatal cases which led to nine deaths. The district also recorded 13 grievous injuries and 35 minor injuries. Meanwhile, South Goa registered 104 accidents, with nine of them being fatal, claiming nine lives. Additionally, 12 persons sustained grievous injuries, while 55 were left with minor injuries.
Statewide, the data shows that two-wheeler users remain the most vulnerable, with riders accounting for nine of the deaths and pillion riders for three. One driver, four pedestrians, and one cyclist also lost their lives during the month. No passenger deaths were reported.
The accident statistics highlight the pressing need for strengthened enforcement, improved road engineering, and enhanced public awareness to reduce fatalities, particularly among vulnerable road users such as riders, pillion riders, and pedestrians.
Authorities are expected to review the trends and take corrective measures in the coming weeks to improve road safety across Goa.
