Panaji: The Directorate of Education, Government of Goa, has revised the cost of mid-day meals under the PM POSHAN (Mid-Day Meal) Scheme with effect from May 1, 2025. The revised rates will be applicable to all Parent Teacher Associations, Self Help Groups, and Mahila Mandals involved in providing mid-day meals in government and government-aided Balwatikas, pre-primary, primary, and upper primary schools across the State.
As per the circular issued on Thursday, the new rates are ₹9.33 per child per day for Pre-primary/Balwatika and Primary levels, and ₹12.00 per child per day for the Upper Primary level. While the meal cost has been revised, the menu, quantity, calorific value, and all other related conditions will remain unchanged. All educational institutions have been instructed to strictly follow the revised rates.
The circular, signed by Director of Education Shaikh R.S., has also been circulated to all educational authorities including the Directors of Education (North, Central, and South), ADEIs of all talukas, and the Director of Information Technology for uploading the information online.
