PANAJI: Goa’s international tourism season is set for a major boost with the introduction of new charter services from Russia and Kazakhstan. Concord Exotic Voyages has announced that three new weekly flights from Novosibirsk will begin landing at Manohar International Airport (MOPA) from October 2, adding to the existing services from Ekaterinburg and Moscow. With these additions, Aeroflot will now operate a total of nine charter flights to Goa every week.
The first arrivals are scheduled as follows: Novosibirsk flights on October 2 and 3, an Ekaterinburg flight on October 4, followed by two services on October 5 – one from Ekaterinburg and another from Moscow. The Moscow service will be operated by an Airbus A330-300 with a capacity of 296 passengers, while the others will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft seating 158 passengers.
Further strengthening connectivity, charter flights from Kazakhstan will commence on October 25, opening up yet another important market for Goa’s inbound tourism.
Concord Exotic Voyages, a Panaji-based destination management company with over four decades of expertise, continues to play a key role in managing Russian charter tourism to Goa. Senior Vice President Sheik Ismail recently led a delegation of Goan hoteliers to the CIS region as part of promotional efforts by the Goa Tourism Department to tap new markets.
The first flights of the season will be welcomed in true Goan style, with roses, a brass band, cultural troupes and traditional hospitality. Officials said the increased international arrivals will give a strong start to the state’s tourism season and reinforce Goa’s position as a preferred global holiday destination.
