PANAJI: Two talented players from Goa, Lokvesh Gaonkar and Hrishikesh Gaonkar, have earned selection to the Indian Ball Badminton Team, set to compete in upcoming international events in Indonesia and Malaysia.
The national selection trials were held from November 27 to 29 in New Delhi, where both players showcased exceptional skill and determination. Their strong performance during the trials earned them spots on the national squad, reflecting their dedication and hard work.
The Gaonkar duo credited their success to the guidance of Mahesh Velip from Goa Ball Badminton, whose mentorship played a key role in preparing them for the rigorous trials. This achievement marks a proud moment for Goa, highlighting the state’s growing presence in national and international ball badminton.
The team now looks forward to representing India on the global stage, carrying the hopes of both their state and the country.
