PANAJI: Goa is gaining international recognition for its innovative and equitable healthcare initiatives, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said while presenting the Goa Model for Healthcare at Bioprom 2025 in Russia. The event brought together global health leaders, including Ekaterina Priezzheva, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Sergey Glagolev, Deputy Minister of Health of Russia, health ministers from BRIC nations, and corporate healthcare champions worldwide.
Rane highlighted Goa as the first state in India to implement the Pricing Policy for Innovative Lifesaving Therapies (PPILT), a bold initiative ensuring affordable access to critical treatments and advanced therapies for all citizens. “Our mission focuses on equitable cancer care, from AI-driven early detection to confidential pricing mechanisms that make life-saving drugs accessible and free for those in need,” he said.
The Health Minister also underlined initiatives such as NGS testing and iBreast screening, which are provided free of cost in the state, enabling early diagnosis, personalized treatment, and improved survival outcomes. Rane noted that these initiatives are inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make affordable healthcare a reality for every individual, echoing his global call for “One Earth, One Health.”
“Goa’s healthcare model stands as a shining example of how equitable, inclusive, and innovation-led public health can benefit not just India, but the world,” Rane added.
