Mumbai: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant attended and addressed the inaugural session of India Maritime Week 2025 in Mumbai, which was held under the theme “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision.” The event was graced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Minister of State Shantanu Thakur, and Deputy Chief Ministers of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, among other dignitaries and delegates.
Speaking at the session, Chief Minister Sawant said the theme “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision” perfectly reflects India’s collective resolve to usher in a Maritime Amrit Kaal — an era of blue economy-led growth, innovation, and sustainable ocean management.
“Goa takes immense pride in showcasing its vital role in India’s maritime journey. With its rich maritime heritage, Goa today stands as a model of how tradition, technology, and sustainability can come together to shape a modern maritime future,” said Sawant.
He highlighted that under the guidance of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways through flagship initiatives such as Sagarmala, PM Gati Shakti, and Maritime Vision 2030, Goa’s maritime sector is witnessing remarkable progress in connectivity, investment, and employment opportunities for youth.
“The Goa government remains committed to promoting green shipping, sustainable coastal development, and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 — a vision rooted in self-reliance, sustainability, and shared prosperity,” the Chief Minister added.
The India Maritime Week 2025 aims to bring together stakeholders from across the maritime ecosystem to foster innovation, collaboration, and growth in India’s blue economy.
