PANAJI: The Directorate of Art & Culture will honour 12 eminent personalities in the field of Art & Culture by conferring the prestigious Goa State Cultural Award for the year 2024-2025, comprising of a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000/- for the contribution & achievement in their respective fields like Music, Drama/Tiatr. Folk, Bhajan, Kirtan, Craft, Literature, Painting etc.
The recipients of Goa State Cultural Award 2024 are Damodar K. Shevde and Agostinho Francisco Xavier in the field of Music from Pernem and Salcete respectively. Suresh A Bandekar in the field Bhajan/Drama from Pernem, Vivek L. Joshi in the field of Kirtan from Sattari, Anand T. Amonkar and Gurudas K. Gaonkar in the field of Bhajan from Bicholim respectively.
Similarly, Gajanan G. Naik and Amrutrao R. Bhosale in the field of Drama from Dharbandora and Tiswadi respectively. Sharon Mazarello in the field of Tiatr from Salcete, Suhasini V. Naik in the Folk Art from Ponda, Nayana Adarkar and Laxman K. Pitre in the field of literature from Tiswadi respectively.
The Goa State Cultural Awards for Individuals and Best Cultural Institution will be presented to the awardees at a special function to be organized by the department. The date of the function will be declared by the department shortly.
