Panaji: The much-anticipated 10th, 11th, and 12th editions of the Goa State Film Festival (GSFF) will be held together from August 14 to 17, 2025. This four-day cinematic extravaganza will begin with the inauguration ceremony on August 14 and conclude with a closing event on August 17. Over the years, the festival has grown into one of Goa’s most awaited cultural events, celebrating excellence in filmmaking and spotlighting emerging talent.
As part of GSFF 2025, the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) will host an exciting “48 Hours Short Film Making Competition,” designed to discover and nurture new talent in Goan cinema. The competition topic will be revealed on August 2 at 10:00 AM, with participants required to submit their finished short films within 48 hours, by August 4 at 10:00 AM, at the ESG office. The contest aims to foster creativity under tight timelines, encourage networking within the filmmaking community, showcase local talent, and develop filmmaking skills using minimal resources.
Registrations for the competition opened on July 19 and will close on July 28 at 5:00 PM. There is no registration fee, and interested participants can download application forms and find detailed rules and eligibility criteria on the official ESG website, www.esg.co.in.
The competition offers attractive cash prizes across multiple categories, including Best Film (First and Second Prize of ₹25,000 each), Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor, and Best Actor (male and female), each with a prize of ₹15,000.
