PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday said the State government is committed to strengthening Goa’s journey towards environmental sustainability through scientific and responsible waste management practices.
Highlighting the government’s ongoing initiatives, the Chief Minister said the Common Hazardous Treatment and Storage Facility has emerged as a crucial component in ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable management of hazardous waste generated across the State.
Sawant noted that the state-of-the-art facility is not only addressing environmental challenges but also empowering Goan youth, with nearly 80% of its workforce comprising local employees.
“We are strengthening Goa’s journey towards environmental sustainability through scientific and responsible waste management. The Common Hazardous Treatment and Storage Facility is playing a crucial role in managing hazardous waste safely and efficiently. This initiative is also empowering our local workforce, with nearly 80% of employees being Goan youth. We are steadily moving towards a cleaner, greener, and Swayampurna Goa,” said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the State’s environmental policies are aligned with the vision of long-term ecological balance and sustainable development.
