PANAJI: Goa’s Women and Child Development Minister, Vishwajit Rane, attended a review meeting chaired by Union Minister for Women & Child Development, Annapurna Devi, to assess the progress of the Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 initiatives. The meeting focused on improving nutritional outcomes, upgrading the infrastructure of Anganwadi Centres, and enhancing the quality of early childhood care and education through the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi initiative.
Minister Rane emphasized Goa’s commitment to ensuring that every child receives a strong foundation in nutrition, learning, and care. He highlighted the state’s efforts to upgrade Anganwadis into Saksham Centres equipped with modern facilities, co-located with government schools, and designed to provide a safe, child-friendly, and stimulating learning environment.
The review also marked the celebration of 50 years of Anganwadi Services, recognizing five decades of dedication to nurturing children’s health, learning, and overall development nationwide. With Goa continuing to perform well on key health and nutrition indicators, the state remains focused on building a stronger foundation for children’s future well-being and holistic growth.
The Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 mission aims to improve the nutritional status of children, adolescent girls, and pregnant women, while upgrading early childhood care and education infrastructure across the country.
