Panaji: Goa endured their fourth consecutive defeat in the Women’s Under-15 One-Day Trophy Elite tournament after going down by 137 runs to Vidarbha on Thursday at the Dr P.V.G. Raju ACA Sports Complex in Vizianagaram.
Batting first, Vidarbha posted a commanding 267 for 4 in their allotted 35 overs, led by a fine century from Arya Pongde, who scored 117, while Maahum Talib contributed 77. Chahiti remained unbeaten on 29 as Vidarbha built a strong total.
In reply, Goa could manage only 130 for 4 in 35 overs. Joya Meer was the standout performer for Goa, scoring a well-crafted 68 off 82 balls, which included 12 boundaries, to register a half-century. Arya Parab added 21, but the rest of the batting line-up failed to provide significant support.
With this defeat, Goa remain winless in the tournament and are placed sixth and last in Group B. They will play their final league match against Punjab on January 10.
