PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that with the launch of Project Parivartan at GMC, Goa is taking steps to tackle the growing challenge of antibiotic misuse and infections.
Supported by Pfizer and the Americares India Foundation, this initiative focuses on using antibiotics responsibly and preventing infections. It’s a big move to protect the health of Goans.
“With the launch of Project Parivartan at GMC, Goa is taking steps to tackle the growing challenge of antibiotic misuse and infections,”: said Rane
He further said that the strategic partnership between DHS Goa, GICAM Foundation and GMC represents an important milestone towards enhanced hand care in the state.
“This collaboration aims to establish a World-Standard Hand Surgery Unit (HSU) and a Centre of Excellence in Hand Care, providing affordable, world-class hand surgical interventions to the people of Goa. Led by Dr. S. M. Bandekar and guided by Prof. Marco Lanzetta Bertani, the project leverages the combined expertise of the Departments of Orthopaedics and Plastic Surgery and Burns,” he added
Rane said that this interdisciplinary approach will ensure comprehensive and advanced medical care, making specialised hand treatments more accessible to the local population.
