PANAJI: The Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association has announced the Goa State men and women teams for the 36th Senior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, scheduled to be held in Nagpur from January 19 to January 22, 2026. The selection marks an important moment for tennis ball cricket in the state, with both squads featuring a blend of experience and emerging talent.
The men’s team will be led by Harsh Gala, who has been named captain for the national outing. The squad includes Kannaya Gaude, Vijay Halgekar, Akshad Naik, Tanay Harmalkar, Pratik Naik, Prajyot Naik, Ranjit Gosavi, Rohan Naik, Kundan Gaude, Vaibhav Velip, Prajyot Dessai, Sanish Kumar, Sushant Sawant, and Puneet Khandeparkar. The team is expected to rely on a balanced combination of power hitters, all rounders, and disciplined bowlers as they aim for a strong showing at the national level.
The women’s team will be captained by Deesha Kambli and includes Pratiksha Kerkar, Purva Gawde, Kanaksha Gaude, Annaliz Gomes, Laxmi Majik, Siddhi Chari, Vibha Jalmi, Pradyna Pednekar, Falguli Fadte Gaonkar, Chaitrali Maestri, Rakhi Giri, Sonam Raikar, Prathana Borkar, and Raee Untekar. The squad reflects the steady growth of women’s tennis ball cricket in Goa, with several players having impressed in recent state and inter district competitions.
A formal farewell ceremony for both teams was held at the Goa Legislative Assembly in Porvorim on January 15. The event was attended by dignitaries from the sports administration, association officials, and well wishers, who extended their support and best wishes to the players and support staff ahead of the championship.
The selected teams will depart Goa on January 16 and are scheduled to return on January 24, following the conclusion of the tournament. The championship in Nagpur offers Goa an opportunity to make a strong impact on the national stage and further strengthen its presence in Indian tennis ball cricket.
