PANAJI: The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Goa, has announced the conduct of selection trials to identify Goa State teams for the 69th National School Games Championship 2025. The trials will cover Cycling and Shooting disciplines across Under 14, Under 17, and Under 19 categories for both boys and girls.
Selected cyclists will represent Goa at the National School Games Cycling Championship, which is scheduled to be held in Jharkhand from January 13 to January 17, 2026. Meanwhile, the Shooting events for Under 14 and Under 19 boys and girls will take place in Madhya Pradesh from January 5 to January 9, 2026.
The selection trials for Cycling in the Under 14, 17, and 19 categories will be conducted on December 18, 2025. The venue for the trials will be the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs office at Campal, Panaji, Goa. Athletes are required to report between 10.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. at the Sports Section of the DSYA office.
Eligibility criteria have been clearly defined for participation. For the Under 14 category, players must be born on or after January 1, 2012. Under 17 players should be born on or after January 1, 2009, while Under 19 players must be born on or after January 1, 2007. All participants must be students currently studying in Standard 12 or below, but not lower than Standard 6.
As part of the selection process, shortlisted players will be required to submit an Age Verification Test certificate issued by a registered medical doctor, along with duly filled eligibility forms. Sports Cards or valid School Identity Cards are mandatory at the time of registration and verification.
The trials will be conducted under the supervision of designated officials from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, ensuring transparency and adherence to national standards. Aspiring athletes and schools are encouraged to participate actively in the selection process to secure representation for Goa at the national level.
