PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced that Goa is launching its first-ever foot care clinic for diabetes patients.
“Under this program, Goa is launching its first-ever foot care clinic for diabetes patients. The introduction of a digital diabetes registry will further enhance monitoring and care coordination for Goans battling diabetes,” said Rane
He further said that 2024 saw a key leap towards advancing diabetes care in Goa with the renewal of the MoU between the Government of Goa and the Novo Nordisk Education Foundation for the Changing Diabetes Barometer program.
Alongside these developments, Rane said proactive screening initiatives are underway to detect diabetes early.
“Specialized training programs for healthcare professionals are being implemented to provide high-quality care and support to those living with diabetes,” Rane said
He also said that the program will also extend its reach through community diabetes centers, mega diabetes camps, and home visits by diabetes educators, thereby ensuring that awareness and diabetes care are accessible to Goans.
