PANJIM: The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today announced government plan to set up post-covid care clinics across all public heath centers (PHC) to deal with post-infection complications developed amongst the recovered patients.
Addressing press conference, Sawant said that these clinics will play an important role in providing required treatment, medication and counselling to the patients, who are cured from the infection.
“There are several recovered patients, especially those above 60 years, who have started to develop post-covid complications related to lungs, breath, headache and other disorders,” Sawant said.
“The clinics will play an important role in management of recovered patients and to ensure they are healthy,” he added.
Sawant said that as on date, State has a total of 22,590 confirmed cases while 17, 592 patients are recovered.
This was Chief Minister’s first media ‘online’ interaction after he had tested positive for Coronavirus on September 2. He is currently in home isolation.
Sawant said that State has reported over 270 deaths so far and that various factors are responsible for the death.
