Panaji: The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, made a significant impression on the opening day of the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) 2025, held from 4th to 6th May in Jaipur, Rajasthan. With a compelling showcase of the state’s diverse and regenerative tourism offerings, Goa highlighted its commitment to sustainable and experience-rich travel.
GITB 2025, jointly organized by the Government of Rajasthan, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and FICCI, served as a premier platform for Goa Tourism to connect with international buyers, tour operators, and key industry stakeholders.
The Goa delegation was led by Mr. Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS, Secretary, Tourism, Government of Goa, alongside Shri Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism; Mr. Gavin Dias, General Manager, GTDC; and Mr. Rajesh Kale, Deputy Director (South), Department of Tourism. The team engaged in high-level B2B meetings, policy discussions, and strategic networking, reinforcing Goa’s growing presence in global tourism circuits.
In a key highlight, Mr. Sanjeev Ahuja participated as a panelist in the session titled “Catalysing Growth: How Tourism Policies are Attracting MICE Opportunities.” He joined dignitaries including Mr. Mukesh Kumar Meshram (Uttar Pradesh), Mr. Rajender Kumar (Gujarat), Mr. Ravi Jain (Rajasthan), and Mr. Balwant Singh (Odisha), sharing Goa’s vision and strategies for becoming a leading MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination. Mr. Ahuja emphasized Goa’s progressive policy frameworks, infrastructure upgrades, and focused marketing efforts to attract high-value tourism.
Speaking on the impact of the event, Shri Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism, stated:
“Goa’s strong showing at GITB reflects the growing interest in Goa as a destination that goes beyond the beach. The positive response validates our efforts in promoting regenerative tourism, cultural experiences, and sustainable travel. We are confident these engagements will drive meaningful growth for Goa’s tourism sector.”
