PANAJI: Goa Tourism inaugurated its pavilion at the Qatar Travel Mart (QTM) 2025 on November 25, marking a significant step in strengthening the State’s international tourism outreach. The pavilion was opened by Mr. Vipul, IFS, Indian Ambassador to Qatar, in the presence of Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte, Director of Tourism Kedar Naik, GTDC General Manager (Marketing) Gavin Dias, and OSD to the Tourism Minister Shawn Mendes, along with other dignitaries. The event set the tone for Goa’s strategic participation at one of the region’s most influential tourism platforms.
Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte highlighted that Goa has entered a phase of purposeful tourism transformation rooted in sustainability, community benefit, and experience-driven initiatives. Emphasising the importance of the GCC region as a key international market, he said that QTM 2025 provides an opportunity to deepen partnerships across wellness, leisure, adventure, weddings, and film tourism while positioning Goa as a premium global destination.
Director of Tourism Kedar Naik noted that Goa’s pavilion showcases the State’s expanding service portfolio and new curated experiences designed for international travellers. He stressed that Goa is presenting itself beyond its coastline through regenerative tourism models, enhanced infrastructure, and authentic local experiences. Engagements on the opening day reflected strong interest from global stakeholders in Goa as a multidimensional destination.
The pavilion features a refreshed narrative of Goa’s tourism landscape, highlighting regenerative tourism, community-led experiences, heritage initiatives, upgraded visitor infrastructure, and emerging offerings such as nocto tourism, jet setting (film and screen tourism), and calmcations for wellness-oriented travellers.
Throughout the day, the pavilion saw active participation from travel trade professionals, international buyers, media representatives, and tourism stakeholders who explored Goa’s new tourism experiences and digital-ready initiatives. Discussions also focused on the State’s recent infrastructure upgrades and community-based tourism circuits, underscoring Goa’s long-term commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism.
Goa Tourism closed the opening day on a strong note, achieving high visibility at QTM 2025 and reinforcing its position as a dynamic, future-ready destination. The delegation will continue engagements over the next two days, presenting Goa’s comprehensive and evolving tourism offerings to a wider global audience.
