PANAJI: The Goa Tourism pavilion at the prestigious Tashkent International Tourism Fair (TITF) 2024 was inaugurated today by Minister for Tourism, Rohan A. Khaunte, in the presence of Smita Pant, Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan; and Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Also present at the inauguration were Shri Shawn Mendes, OSD to the Minister for Tourism; Deepak Narvekar, Deputy General Manager, Marketing, GTDC; and Anil Dalal, Manager, GTDC.
The TITF 2024, held at CAEx, Tashkent from 21st to 23rd November, serves as a prominent platform for showcasing Goa’s vibrant culture, warm hospitality, and exclusive holiday packages to an international audience.
On the first day, Khaunte held a productive discussion with Umid Shadiev, focusing on enhancing tourism relations between Goa and Uzbekistan.
The conversation explored collaborative initiatives aimed at promoting tourism, fostering cultural exchange, and driving mutual economic growth for both regions.
In addition, Khaunte met with Centrum Air, a leading tour operator from Uzbekistan, to discuss strategies for popularizing Goa as a preferred travel destination for tourists from Uzbekistan.
The meeting focused on enhancing awareness among tour operators, addressing concerns, and building stronger partnerships to boost Goa’s visibility in Uzbekistan’s tourism market.
Hon’ble Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte also joined Smt. Smita Pant, Hon’ble Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan, along with the Goa Tourism team and co-exhibitors, for a fruitful discussion over lunch, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and advancing tourism initiatives between India and Uzbekistan. Minister also held B2B meetings with tour operators and trade partners at the pavilion, while also interacting with media representatives from television, print, and online trade portals. These interactions highlighted Goa’s growing prominence as a leading tourism destination and reinforced the state’s commitment to expanding its presence in the international tourism market.
Additionally, a mesmerizing cultural performance was held at the Goa Tourism stall, where an enchanting Goan dance showcased the state’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditions. The performance captivated attendees, spreading the magic of Goa and leaving a lasting impression on the international audience.
The Department of Tourism aims to build on the success of its participation at TITF 2024, with a renewed focus on promoting innovative tourism solutions, sustainable travel practices, and regenerative tourism initiatives. Goa remains committed to establishing new standards in global tourism while preserving its natural beauty and cultural legacy.
