PANAJI: The Goa Tourism Department has taken action against the respondent for operating an unauthorized and overloaded boat at Calangute Beach, resulting in a tragic incident on December 25, 2024.
The boat capsized, injuring five and causing one fatality.
An investigation revealed the lack of valid permissions and overloading.
As a result, the respondent is barred from operating the vessel for three years, and all fees paid are forfeited.
The Department is committed to enforcing safety and compliance in Goa’s watersports industry.
