Panjim: In the lead-up to World Tourism Day on 27th September, the Goa Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), SKAL International Goa, and the Yuva Tourism Club, has launched a month-long series of immersive activities across the state. The programme aims to highlight Goa’s rich heritage, biodiversity, local communities, and culinary traditions while promoting sustainable and experiential tourism. Hon’ble Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte said that World Tourism Day celebrates the power of tourism to create positive change and emphasized that partnerships with TTAG, SKAL, and the Yuva Tourism Club not only showcase Goa’s unique experiences but also nurture responsible tourism among the youth, the future Tourism Ambassadors. Director of Tourism Shri Kedar Naik added that the activities represent a holistic approach to tourism development, combining heritage walks, nature trails, culinary sessions, inclusive cruises, and other initiatives to ensure tourism in Goa is sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready, while enriching local communities and empowering the next generation. Visitors can look forward to experiences such as the Bioluminescence Forest Walk, Cruise & Kayaking Trail, Picnic by Forest Stream at Folgar, Monte Santo – Holy Hill Heritage Walk, Evening River Cruise, Electric Cycle Tour at Chorao, Aguad Heritage Walk, Life of Pao – Bread Making Experience, and Mulgao Folk Village & Coconut Farming Experience. Through the Yuva Tourism Club, these activities are extended to students in schools and colleges, building awareness about responsible travel. Culinary competitions at IIHM Goa and IHM Goa will celebrate Goa’s vibrant food culture, while inclusive initiatives such as special boat cruises for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and children from orphanages reflect the state’s commitment to accessible tourism. The week of World Tourism Day will also feature the largest Tourism Stakeholders’ Meet at Grand Hyatt Goa, with the presentation of the Vincent Ramos Scholarship and the launch of Goa’s MICE Promotion Bureau, followed by a one-day Film Festival at ESG focusing on heritage, conservation, and sustainability. The Department of Tourism invites residents, students, stakeholders, and visitors to participate in these events and experience Goa’s culture, nature, and traditions in fresh and meaningful ways as the state celebrates World Tourism Day 2025.
