Panaji: Goa University has announced its women’s judo team that will represent the institution at the All India Inter University Judo Women Championship 2025–26 scheduled to be held at Chandigarh University, Mohali from March 18 to March 22, 2026.
Ahead of the competition, the university organised a kit distribution and farewell ceremony on March 13 at the Sports Section of Goa University. The event was held to encourage the athletes and wish them success as they prepare to compete against top university teams from across the country.
The ceremony was attended by Balachandra Jadar and Dinesh Patil, who extended their support and best wishes to the players representing the university at the national level.
The Goa University women’s judo squad for the championship includes student athletes Isha Fernandes and Priti Kalmankar. Both athletes will compete in their respective weight categories during the tournament.
The team will be guided by coach and manager Shaman Prabhu, who will oversee training and coordination throughout the championship.
The All India Inter University Judo Championship brings together leading university athletes from across India, providing them with an opportunity to compete at a high level and gain national exposure. The participation of Goa University’s team reflects the institution’s continued efforts to promote sports and support talented athletes in achieving success at national competitions.
