PANAJI: The Goa University Inter-Collegiate Football Championship 2025-26 saw exciting action on Day 4, 24th September 2025. At the Goa University Ground, Taleigao, SV’s Sridora Caculo College of Commerce & Management Studies, Mapusa, defeated Swami Vivekanand Vidyaprasarak Mandal’s College of Commerce, Shirshire Borim, 4-0. Prathamesh Sawant scored two early goals in the 12th and 16th minutes, followed by second-half strikes from Vedant Gadekar (54th) and Aryan Pole (59th). Sawant was named Best Performer. In the second match, Goa Medical College & Hospital, Bambolim, overcame P.E.S’s Ravi S. Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi, 4-2 in a tie-breaker after a 0-0 full-time score. Goa Medical’s goals came from Iyle Fernandes, Vishav Kerkar, Croy Fernandes, and Bryson Colaco, while Prathamesh Naik and Jpvito Dias scored for PES Farmagudi.
At Rosary Church Ground, Navelim, Agnel Institute of Technology & Design, Assagao, defeated Ganpat Parsekar College of Education, Harmal, 4-0, with Shreyash Dabholkar scoring twice in the 14th and 16th minutes, followed by Mahadev Parwar (48th) and Karthik Gad (68th). Dabholkar was adjudged Best Performer. In the second match, SPES’s Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora, beat Goa Dental College & Hospital, Bambolim, 5-2 in a tie-breaker after a 1-1 draw. Goa Dental’s first-half goal came from Sahil Arolkar (13th), with Aryan Thakur equalizing for Multi-Faculty in the 38th minute. In the tie-breaker, Multi-Faculty scored through Zishan Shaikh, Vijay Naik, Gurav Gaonkar, Sahil Naik, and Dattaraj Gaonkar, while Goa Dental scored via Tanmay Kerkar, Manoj Talkur, Gopal Mandrekar, and Raj Quadror.
The upcoming men’s matches on 25th September 2025 include Don Bosco College of Engineering vs Fr. Agnel College, Pilar at 10:00 a.m. at Goa University Ground, Taleigao, and at Rosary Church Ground, Govt. College Khandola vs Don Bosco College, Panjim at 9:00 a.m., followed by Govt. College Pernem vs PES College of Pharmacy at 11:00 a.m. The championship continues to deliver thrilling football action as teams compete for a place in the knockout stages.
