PANAJI: The Goa University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Football Championship 2025-26 continued on September 22 with exciting matches at Goa University Ground and Rosary College Ground. At the Goa University Ground, Goa College of Pharmacy, Panjim, advanced automatically after being awarded a walkover against Goa College of Architecture, Altinho. Meanwhile, at Rosary College Ground, VP’s Mandre College of Commerce, Economics and Management, Mandrem, Pernem, secured a convincing 3-0 win over V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar. Paresh Vast opened the scoring in the 15th minute, Sumit Chopdekar added the second goal in the 42nd minute, and Pratham Gosavi sealed the victory in the 68th minute.
The championship continues on September 23 with several fixtures lined up. At Goa University Ground, Taleigao, Vidya Prabodhini College will face Goa Engineering College at 9:30 a.m., followed by Narayan Zantye College taking on Government College, Quepem, at 11:00 a.m. At Rosary College Ground, Navelim, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, will play against Kamaxi College, Shiroda, at 9:30 a.m., and Shree Mallikarjun College will meet Goa College of Art at 11:00 a.m. The tournament promises more thrilling encounters as colleges compete for a place in the semi-finals.
