Panjim: The Goa University Inter-Collegiate Women’s Football Championship 2025-26 continued on 19th September with Day 4 matches held at Goa University Ground, Taleigao, and Rosary College Ground, Navelim. At Goa University Ground, VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao, with Riya Gomes scoring the decisive goal in the 52nd minute. In the second match, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa defeated Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management, Porvorim 2-0, with Vidhita Gadekar opening the scoring in the 6th minute and Geuel D’Souza adding a second goal in the 53rd minute.
At Rosary College Ground, Carmel College of Arts, Science & Commerce for Women, Nuvem delivered a remarkable 5-0 win over P.G. Goa University, with all five goals scored by Vanisha Vaz in the 6th, 40th, 48th, 56th, and 60th minutes, earning her the Best Performer award. In the second match, Don Bosco College, Panjim triumphed 4-0 against P.E.S’s Rajaram & Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy, Farmagudi, with goals from Pearl Almeida (7th min), Vaishnavi Sharma (11th min), Whitney Fernandes (14th min), and Blessica Rodrigues (40th min).
The Women’s Quarter-Final matches are scheduled for 22nd September. At Goa University Ground, Rosary College, Navelim will face Government College, Quepem at 10:00 a.m., followed by Shree Damodar College, Margao against St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa at 2:00 p.m. At Rosary College Ground, Don Bosco College, Fatorda will take on Fr. Agnel College, Pilar at 9:00 a.m., and Carmel College, Nuvem will meet Don Bosco College, Panjim at 11:00 a.m. The championship continues to highlight competitive women’s football across Goa’s collegiate institutions.
