PANAJI: In a significant milestone for Goa University, its women’s football team has secured a spot in the All India Inter University Football Women Championships 2024-25, set to take place at GNA University in Phagwara, Punjab, from January 11 to 16, 2025. This achievement was celebrated with a kit distribution and farewell function held on January 6, 2025, at the Sports Section of Goa University.
The event was attended by key figures including Mr. Balachandra Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education, Mr. Krishna Parsekar, Assistant Sports Officer, along with the team’s Coach, Mr. Ryan Pereira, and Assistant Coach, Mr. Worrel D’Souza. The team, managed by Ms. Jeromina Colaco, comprises talented players such as Vanisha Vaz, Rizella Almeida, Janet Mesquita, Blessica Rodrigues, Anoshka D’ Souza, Rhea Pires, Sushmita Jadhav, Flani Costa, Aaroshi Govekar, Karen Estrocio, Pearl Almeida, Lysandra Rodrigues, Jovinia D’ Silva, Aniela Barretto, Vinoshka Fernandes, Pushpa Parab, Saniya Pednekar, Simran Narvekar, Tanvi Parulekar, and Tanvi D. Khedekar.
The team’s qualification for the national championship is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and they are poised to make a strong impression at the upcoming tournament.
