ALDONA: Officials from the Directorate of Vigilance, Government of Goa, conducted a thorough site inspection of the Calvim Bridge in Aldona on Wednesday as part of an ongoing probe into alleged irregularities.
The inspection followed a complaint lodged on October 29, 2024, by Devidas Gopinath Panjikar of Podwal, Khorjuem, Aldona. The complaint claimed misuse of funds, release of payments without a proper completion certificate, and substandard construction work related to the bridge project.
The on-site assessment was carried out in the presence of Public Works Department (PWD) officials, including the Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer from Work Division XIII (Roads), Mapusa, alongside vigilance authorities.
During the inspection, the team conducted a detailed review of the bridge structure and surrounding infrastructure to verify the allegations. Officials stated that further action will be determined based on the final inspection report.
