DABOLIM: In a warm and festive start to the tourism season, Goa welcomed 334 Russian tourists arriving on the first charter flight of the season. The Azure Air flight, arriving from Vnukovo International Airport in Russia, landed at Dabolim Airport at 4 am on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, the guests were greeted with traditional Goan hospitality. Officials from the Airport Authority of India and the Goa Tourism Department were present to extend a special welcome. Passengers received rosebuds, and a cake-cutting ceremony was organized to commemorate the occasion, creating a joyful and memorable start to their stay.
Adding to the festivities, a traditional brass band serenaded the visitors with local music, a gesture that encapsulated Goa’s rich cultural heritage. This musical welcome was aimed at making the Russian tourists feel the warmth and charm that Goa is renowned for.
With the arrival of this first charter flight, the tourism department anticipates a strong season, which is expected to boost local businesses and invigorate Goa’s economy. As the season progresses, more such flights are expected, bringing in tourists from various parts of the world to enjoy Goa’s beaches, culture, and hospitality.

Azure Air: Following today’s arrival, flights from Vnukovo International Airport, Russia, are scheduled for November 15 and November 26, 2024. Starting from December 2, 2024, daily flights from Kolsovo Airport will continue until March 23, 2024, totaling 110 flights.
Aeronomad: From Kyrgyzstan, flights are scheduled from December 28, 2024, to February 1, 2025, with one flight every Saturday, making a total of 6 flights.
FlyArystan: From Astana, Kazakhstan, flights will operate from December 7, 2024, to March 29, 2025, with two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays, totaling 32 flights.
With these arrivals, Goa is optimistic about a successful tourism season, as more charter flights are expected to bring in international visitors, enriching the local economy and culture.
