DABOLIM: Goa Tourism ushered in the 2025–26 tourism season with the arrival of the first international charter flight from Almaty, Kazakhstan, on October 25, signalling a promising start to the new travel season.
Operated by SCAT Airlines (Flight VSV5212), the aircraft landed at Dabolim Airport, South Goa, at 5:30 a.m., carrying enthusiastic travellers eager to explore Goa’s culture, cuisine, and experiences beyond its famed beaches.
Welcoming the visitors, Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte said, “The arrival of the first charter flight from Kazakhstan signifies Goa’s growing international connectivity and appeal as a global destination. We remain focused on strengthening such partnerships and expanding our charter network to diversify source markets while maintaining a sustainable and regenerative approach to tourism.”
Tourism Director Kedar Naik added that every new charter reinforces Goa’s standing as a leading leisure destination. “We thank our travel partners and stakeholders for their dedicated efforts in promoting Goa and ensuring smooth operations at both Dabolim and Mopa airports,” he said.
To mark the occasion, a warm welcome ceremony was organised by the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Concord Exotic Voyages and the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG). Passengers were greeted with traditional garlands, floral arrangements, a brass band, and a cake-cutting ceremony celebrating the official start of the charter season.
With more charter flights expected from various international destinations in the coming weeks, Goa Tourism anticipates a robust and diverse tourist influx. The department continues to promote its “Goa Beyond Beaches” initiative, highlighting cultural, adventure, wellness, and heritage experiences for global travellers.
