Team Goemkarponn
Panaji: Two Goan athletes, Babu Gaonkar from Sanguem and Uddesh Majik from Parye, Sattari, have earned selection in the India team for the UIPM World Pentathlon Biathle, Triathle, and Laser Run World Championships, scheduled to be held in Mossel Bay, South Africa, from 9th to 14th December 2025.
Babu Gaonkar will represent India in the Laser Run event, while Uddesh Majik will compete in the Triathle category. Both athletes are set to depart from Mumbai on 4th December 2025 to participate in the championships.
Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, Director of Sports Ajay Gaude, and Secretary (Protocol) Sanjiv Gadkar, along with office bearers of the Modern Pentathlon Association of Goa, congratulated the two athletes on their selection, wishing them success in representing India on the international stage.
