PANAJI: Goan filmmaker Mario Pimenta’s film Act To Achieve has been officially selected for the La Boheme Cinema Film Festival in the Russian Federation. As a result of this selection, the institution will award him an official diploma.
This recognition is particularly significant as Act To Achieve is the only Indian film among 75 shortlisted works selected from over 3,300 global submissions. The achievement underscores both Pimenta’s distinctive creative voice and the growing presence of Goan cinema on the international stage.
The diploma will be formally signed by the Editor-in-Chief of La Boheme Magazine and stamped with the blue seal of the publishing house, serving as an official certification granted to all festival laureates. Following festival tradition, the diploma will be dispatched within two months of the event’s conclusion.
La Boheme Cinema is widely recognised in Russia for its cultural, artistic, and educational contributions, and its awards hold substantial professional prestige. This selection adds yet another notable milestone to the festival’s history of celebrating outstanding filmmakers.
For Goa’s new generation of filmmakers, this achievement is a proud moment. It highlights the Gen Z Goan Film Movement, which continues to redefine regional cinema through fresh, bold storytelling. Mario Pimenta’s success demonstrates that Goan stories, when told authentically and creatively, are resonating on global platforms.
