PANAJI: In a shocking turn of events, Sameer Babulal Shaikh, a young social worker from Sanvordem Goa, has been found dead under mysterious circumstances in Ghaziabad, UP.
His decomposed body was recovered from a rented room, where he had reportedly been staying with four acquaintances.
Sameer had left for Delhi on May 30, 2025, but after losing contact with him, his worried family on 2 June 2025 filed a missing person complaint at Curchorem Police Station.
Taking swift action, PSI Gautam Shettar and PC Abhinav Chohan of Goa Police were dispatched to Delhi to investigate.
Based on the last known mobile location, officers discovered that Sameer had been staying with four individuals. Acting promptly, they managed to trace and detain two of them.
Upon reaching the rented room with the detained suspects, the police made a horrifying discovery Sameer’s decomposed body was found inside, with indications that it had been there for around 10 days.
The exact cause of death remains unknown, and authorities are currently awaiting post-mortem and forensic reports.
The two detained individuals have been handed over to Ghaziabad Police, who are now conducting a manhunt for the remaining two suspects.
