Panaji: In a swift and coordinated emergency response, a critically ill 72-year-old patient was successfully transferred from Borkar Hospital in Margao to Goa Medical College (GMC) late on the night of June 3, thanks to the prompt intervention of the state’s 108 Cardiac Care Ambulance service.
According to Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, the emergency was reported at 10:08 PM. Key interventions included:
* Continuous ventilator-assisted oxygenation and monitoring
* Administration of ECG and suctioning
* Proper positioning and supervised care
* Oxygen saturation levels increased to 96% en route
* Ongoing patient reassurance and clinical oversight
* Safe transfer to GMC with ambu bag ventilation support
Health Minister Rane commended the team, calling the incident a “testament to how Goa’s robust emergency medical services are saving lives every day.” He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, the Goa government remains committed to delivering timely, accessible, and high-quality healthcare to all citizens.
The incident has been widely appreciated as an example of Goa’s improving emergency response infrastructure under the state’s #HealthForAll initiative.
