VALPOI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced that the state’s upcoming Cancer Hospital, being established in collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, is expected to be operational before 2027.
Speaking at a public meeting in Nagargao, Valpoi, Rane said the initiative is part of the Pramod Sawant-led government’s mission to make quality healthcare accessible to every Goan. “The cancer hospital will mark a milestone in the state’s health infrastructure,” he said.
Highlighting other health initiatives, the minister said that new model sub-health centres will soon be set up in remote villages like Kodal and Satre, along with doorstep diagnostic services. “Patients suffering from cardiac emergencies will also receive timely medical care,” he added.
Rane further underlined that several laws passed by the BJP government are designed to enhance the quality of life for citizens. He asserted that only the BJP can guarantee both progress and employment for Goa’s younger generation.
The minister maintained that the government has taken “historic measures” in recent years, creating a sense of security and confidence among people. “We are working at the grassroots level in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. The legislations introduced under Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s leadership are meant to transform the lives of ordinary people,” he said.
On the employment front, Rane said the government has begun generating opportunities and would ensure jobs for educated youth across constituencies. “Our focus is to find solutions for unemployment among educated youth, and this is possible only under the BJP government,” he added.
