Panaji: Celebrated Goan musician and performer Remo Fernandes has announced his recovery following a recent surgical procedure that required the removal of staples from his head. The artist shared a heartfelt update on social media this Sunday, expressing gratitude for the support he received throughout the process and celebrating his return to normal life.
Fernandes revealed that he had his first post-operative shower after three weeks, washing his hair and visiting his favourite Brazilian hairdresser for a fresh summer crewcut. “God bless her heart,” he wrote, describing the haircut as part of a symbolic return to routine. “Felt as good as new again!”
The singer, known for his genre-blending music and outspoken personality, confirmed that he is now driving, shopping, and dining out as advised by his medical team. However, he remains grounded for another month due to restrictions on air travel imposed by his surgeon, citing concerns about cabin pressure. A follow-up MRI has been scheduled a month after the operation to confirm full recovery.
In his post, Fernandes took time to thank the Goan and Indian media for covering his journey. “A huge thank you to the Goan and Indian Press who unexpectedly carried my FB post about my operation, and then about its successful outcome, almost verbatim. Very kind of you,” he wrote.
The singer also extended his deep appreciation to family, friends, and well-wishers — both known and unknown — for their thoughts, prayers, and emotional support during his recovery. “And to the soothing music which helped me chill and heal too,” he added.
Ending on a positive note, Remo wished his followers a peaceful weekend, signing off with his signature blend of spirituality and warmth:
“Happy Sunday everyone! 🙏🏼🌺❤️🌺🙏🏼”
Remo Fernandes remains one of Goa’s most influential cultural icons, and fans across the country continue to follow his journey with admiration and affection.
