Panjim: Goa’s Leena Pednekar Dhapre has added another feather to her cap by winning the bronze medal at the Amazing Thailand–Pattaya BWF World Senior Championships 2025. Competing in the women’s singles category, Leena impressed with a notable victory over Japan’s K. Kimura in the earlier rounds.
Her inspiring run came to an end in the semifinals, where she was defeated by Sri Lanka’s Renu Chandrika de Silva Hettiarachchige with scores of 16-21, 17-21, securing a well-deserved bronze medal.
Manoj Patil, President of the Goa Badminton Association (GBA), congratulated Leena, saying, “Her incredible fitness and fighting spirit are truly commendable. Even today, she competes at the highest level with remarkable consistency and passion. As a former Goa state champion, she continues to inspire young Goan shuttlers to dream big and work hard.
