PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that Manohar International Airport at Mopa generated a revenue of Rs 26.8 crores as on March 31.
“Revenue generated at the airport is Rs. 26.8 crores as on 31st March 2023. As per the decision of the Cabinet, 36.99% of the Government share is the revenue generated at the airport according to the Concession Agreement, will be effective from 31/5/2024,” said Sawant.
He further said that international airlines are expected to commence from 21st July 2023, subject to airline confirmation.
“Flight movements from Mopa is at an average of 65 flights per day. The total flights that have landed and departed is 11,308,” he added.
Sawant said that there is no such proposal or direction for shifting cargo facilities from Dabolim Airport to Manohar International Airport.
“Manohar International Airport at Mopa is an international airport. Hence, the operations at the airport shall be as per the standard norms,” he said.
Sawant has informed that Air India has confirmed to commence International operations from 21st July 2023 to London Gatwick.
Replying to an unstarred questioned raised by Vijai Sardesai on whether international flights have begun from MIA, CM Sawant further said that GMR Goa International Airport Limited (Concessionaire) is in discussion with 5 other airlines for slot confirmation.”
He also went on to say that A380 can land at Manohar International Airport.
