PANAJI: Promising young cricketer Mrunal Naik from Goa has been selected to attend the prestigious BCCI Under 16 Elite Camp 2026, organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India at its Centre of Excellence.
The elite camp is scheduled to take place in Dehradun from May 11 to June 6 and will bring together some of the most talented Under 16 cricketers from across the country. The camp serves as an important platform for young players to receive advanced coaching, training and exposure at the national level.
The selection of Mrunal Naik has been welcomed by the Goa Cricket Association, which described the achievement as a proud moment for cricket in the state. GCA President Mahesh Dessai expressed happiness over the young player’s accomplishment and said the selection reflects his dedication, consistent performances and commitment to the sport.
He noted that the opportunity to train at a national level camp will help the youngster further develop his skills and gain valuable experience by competing alongside some of the best emerging players in the country.
The association’s Secretary Tulshidas Shetye and members of the managing committee also congratulated Mrunal Naik for earning a place in the prestigious training programme. They extended their best wishes and expressed confidence that he will benefit greatly from the experience and continue to progress in his cricketing career.
