PANAJI: In comparison to the same period in 2023, Goa’s total revenue during the nine-month period from April to December 2024 increased by Rs 365.43 crore.
“Goa’s total revenue for the April–December 2024 period was Rs 4,614.77 crore, increasing by Rs 365.43 crore over the Rs 4,249.34 crore earned in the same period in 2023.”
He continued by saying that the State’s improved economic performance is demonstrated by this significant rise, which includes both GST and VAT collections.
Sawant added that, in comparison to the same month in 2023, Goa’s revenue collection for December 2024 increased by an astounding Rs 75.51 crore. According to him, this year’s figures show a clear increasing trend, indicating robust economic growth.
According to Sawant, Goa’s GST revenue increased by 9.62% for the nine-month period from April to December 2024, demonstrating the success of tax changes and economic activity.
Additionally, VAT revenue increased by 6.41 percent, which improved overall revenues, Sawant added.
“When GST and VAT are combined, the overall revenue growth is an impressive 8.60 percent,” he said.
These numbers demonstrate Goa’s steady economic expansion and sound financial standing, making December 2024 a noteworthy turning point for the State. With a record number of visitors, the tourism industry, which is the foundation of Goa’s economy, has also contributed significantly to this increase, according to the chief minister.
