PANAJI: Artificial Intelligence (AI) cameras installed in Panaji city from Divja Circle to Goa University road are finally functional.
These cameras will be used to catch traffic violators that are signal jumping and over-speeding.
The CCTVs have been installed under the Union Government’s Smart City Initiative.
As per information, 7 cameras have been installed in the capital city, with 4 at Divja Circle, Kala Academy, Ferry Station and Captain of Ports.
The remaining two CCTV cameras are installed at Caranzalem and Goa University.
Traffic police sources said the signal jumping violation challan will be Rs 500, while for speeding violation, the charges of challan will be Rs 1,000.
Further, if the particular person is in violation of both, then the transport department will suspend the license.
Information reveals that the CCTV cameras are connected to the NIC and that automatic traffic violation challans will be issued to violators.
