Panaji: Parapat, Indonesia: Goa’s motorsport pride, Vaibhav Marathe, has once again roared to victory—this time on the international stage. The three-time National Rally Champion dominated the Sumatera Utara Rally 2025 in North Sumatra, an iconic leg of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC), earning a coveted spot to represent India at the championship’s final round in Japan this November.
The rally, held against the stunning yet treacherous backdrop of Lake Toba, tested drivers with unpredictable weather, gravel-laden paths, and unforgiving dirt tracks. Vaibhav’s flawless control, fearless pace, and tactical mastery carried him through every stage, ultimately securing India the top spot in Indonesia.
“This win is special—it’s about pushing limits, adapting to challenges, and making India proud,” Vaibhav shared after the victory.
His motorsport journey has been one of grit and persistence. From conquering India’s toughest rally terrains to now battling the world’s best, Vaibhav has consistently proven that talent backed by determination can break global barriers. His rise also serves as an inspiration for budding drivers in Goa, showing that world-class success is within reach.
Backing his triumph is Vamsi Merla Motorsports, led by rally enthusiast and patron Vamsi Merla, whose commitment to nurturing Indian rally talent has opened doors to global competitions. His unwavering support has ensured that drivers like Vaibhav compete on equal footing with international contenders.
With Indonesia conquered, all eyes now turn to Japan this November, where Vaibhav will face the world’s finest in the APRC final. Goa—and India—will be watching, cheering, and hoping for yet another historic finish.
