PANAJI: The Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Goa, has bagged the prestigious SKOCH Gold Award 2025 for its initiative on “Improving Childhood Nutrition through Anganwadi Services.”
The award recognizes the State’s sustained efforts in ensuring that every child gets a strong start in life through better nutrition and care, aligning with the national mission of building a healthier and empowered generation.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane congratulated the department and said, “This achievement reflects the Government of Goa’s commitment to child health and nutrition under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Special credit goes to Director Jyoti Desai and her team of CDPOs and Anganwadi workers, whose tireless dedication has made this milestone possible.”
The Minister added that the recognition will further strengthen Goa’s resolve to develop robust systems that promote child well-being, gender equality, and inclusive growth, in line with the PM’s vision of a Viksit Bharat.
