Panjim: Goa’s emerging table tennis talents put on an impressive display at the DBO–Edcon All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025, as six players Ishaan Colaso, Ashank Dalvi, Shaurya Desai, Aarna Walavalkar, Chandan Caro, and Ruhaan Shaikh secured their places in the finals of their respective categories. The championship is being hosted at Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim, under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association and supported by Edcon Developers.
In the U11 Boys semifinals, top seed Ishaan Colaso was in commanding form, sweeping past Aarish Shaikh 3-0. Joining him in the final is Ashank Dalvi, who battled through a five-game thriller to edge Kedar Nair 3-2 in one of the tournament’s most intense matches.
The U11 Girls event also witnessed dominant performances from the top contenders. Shaurya Desai, the top seed, continued her unbeaten run with a clinical 3-0 win over Sanaz Shaikh, while Aarna Walavalkar outplayed Rheann Menezes Gama 3-0 to set up a much-anticipated final clash between the two in-form youngsters.
In the U17 Boys category, top seed Chandan Caro displayed excellent attacking play to overcome Vedant Wagle 3-1, booking his spot in the title match. His opponent will be Ruhaan Shaikh, who mounted a brilliant comeback from two games down to defeat Dhruva Kamat 3-2 in a thrilling encounter that kept spectators on edge.
Earlier, Radha Desai, Tvisha Kotkar, Tasha Mascarenhas, and Claire George bowed out in the U11 Girls quarterfinals, while Bhaavan Srivastava, Chinmay Bhakare, Yug Prabhu, and Yuvaan Sanke exited in the U17 Boys quarters.
The tournament has seen high-intensity rallies, sportsmanship, and a promising display of Goan talent, setting the stage for a series of exciting finals.
